Key steps to good Map Awareness:
Determine the best action based on the data gathered
This article will focus on Gathering Data from the minimap. Keep in mind that there are many other important data sources in AoV like team health levels, Battle Stats screen, and Hero Stats screen to name a few. You can use the technique outlined in this article on other data sources also.

Goal: develop the habit of checking your minimap
Below are 3 pre-programmed interval timers set to 30, 20, and 10-second intervals. The challenge I present you with is to look at your minimap every time you hear the chime. Using these timers consistently will build your muscle memory (habit) of checking your minimap frequently.
Simply run these timers on a computer or phone while you play AoV. Note there are many interval timing apps and websites out there feel free to use whichever one you feel most comfortable with.
Pre-programmed timers: (hit play before your game starts and the reset after it ends)
Look at your minimap every 30 seconds for an entire game
Look at your minimap every 20 seconds for an entire game
Look at your minimap every 10 seconds for an entire game
After Practice Review:
